Visual arts has been a part of my life since I was very little. What began as a peculiar interest in coloring contests at the local supermarket spawned into an obsession with color, form and aesthetics. The discovery of Photoshop 5 and creating skins for Real Player rooted my passion in the digital landscape. In 2009, I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from the Illinois Institute of Art in Schaumburg, Illinois and I purchased my first MacBook Pro. During college, my design philosophy was profoundly influenced by modernism such that I now tend to lean toward simple, minimal compositions driven by clean typography. Lately, my expertise has been primarily focused on interface design and user experience and I plan to continue working and growing in this area.

I am available for remote freelance opportunities and would love to collaborate with you on a project, so send me an email.

Though I mostly do front-end development, I have a strong interest and desire to succeed as a "real" developer. Learning ActionScript in middle school provided me with a basic understanding of programming, which led to the world of objects, classes and design patterns I began to exercise with Javascript and PHP in high school. Years later I find myself using these languages on projects every single day. I have experience coding for WordPress, content management systems, database storage, authentication modules, shopping carts, payment gateways, mobile web applications, and custom frameworks over the past 8 years. Since the mobile development market is expanding, I plan to have more languages and platforms under my belt in the near future.

At any given moment, I am actively involved with the development and maintenance of several different websites, but I am always looking for more work. If you have an idea for a project or need something for your business, feel free to contact me.

Entrepreneur.

Economics was my favorite class in high school. I wish I had majored in business. Cyan Something is the umbrella for all of my ventures. I have several small web properties. I want to work for 37signals.

One of my biggest goals in life is to start a successful creative firm. So far, this has not been realized, but I always have pet projects and business plans brewing on the back-burner until I have the means to carry out my vision. In 2009, I registered Cyan Something as a sole proprietorship with the state of Illinois to serve as the parent company for all of my small autonomous web properties. Nothing has taken off yet, but I am confident I will sell a start-up someday.

If you are an investor or organization looking to partner with Cyan Something, please contact me via email or call the number below.

Enthusiast.

I competed in Rubik's speed-cubing in 2005. I have surfed in Hawaii and San Diego. Black Ops is an awesome game. I love everything about music. Math is still my favorite subject. I love Jesus.

For whatever reason, literally everything interests me. I am one of those people with a borderline obnoxious fascination with [mostly] useless information and mundane details that many people ignore. A byproduct of my low latent inhibition is to try to be good (or at least half decent) at a lot of different random things. Rubik's cubes, magic tricks, cards, puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, cryptograms, and Mensa books are staples of my childhood hobbies, while playing sports, watching sports and extreme sports continue to be a huge part of my life. I was in a performing choir for many years, I have been in several bands and I play several instruments including the bass for 12 years. Since the original NES, video games on every major platform have also taken up way too much of my time. I love learning, teaching, writing, and speaking and I plan to write a book.

The most significant aspect of my life, though, is my faith in God and His son Jesus, and my belief that the Bible is true. I am a sinner filled with pride who was completely broken and lost for over 23 years, but I was saved before the foundations of the Earth. I still fail and will always fail to live the way I was intended, but I now find my security, confidence and fulfillment in Him. I serve on the leadership team at Redemption Bible Church in Mount Prospect, Illinois and I invite you join us on a Sunday at 10am if you are interested in learning more about the gospel or have a desire to live in Biblical community.
